The Raza Library is a government-protected property located within a Rampur palace. This library, known as one of Asia’s oldest, houses a rare collection of manuscripts written on palm leaves in various languages. It also houses an ancient parchment paper collection written in Indian languages such as Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Marathi, and others. The library, located in the heart of Mumbai, is an important literary and heritage site. This library is one of Mumbai’s oldest and 145 monuments are protected by the Indian government. The Sassoon Mechanic’s Institute was originally intended to be an entire institute dedicated to mechanics, science, and technology.
