Things NOT to Do in Los Angeles
The city of Hollywood is one of the most alluring tourist destinations in the world. The sprawling city has an endless list of attractive places to visit, and covering them all in a few day trip is almost impossible.
So plan your trip in a way that you get the most and the best of LA, avoiding the average and uselessly hyped ones. While finding the must DOs won’t be a problem, we are guiding you through by presenting a list of things that should better NOT be done, when in LA.
So before you book your flights to USA that land straight in the fascinating city of Los Angeles; take the following points in consideration and make a travel itinerary well in advance.
1. Getting up close to the Hollywood Sign:
It is just a waste of time and energy. Whatever you do, you are not going to be able to make it. A strong security system covers the entire periphery and protects the iconic Hollywood Sign.
Dreaming to conquer the place is simply impossible. What’s shown in movies (Friends With Benefits) should not be taken seriously. Stay at a distance and enjoy the view.
2. Touring Movie Star’s Home:
Sounds exciting, but in reality total disappointment. You better not kill you time in doing so.
There are so many better things to do. Your 2-3 hours traveling and getting just a distant look of those posh structures is not worth it. Plus the chances of getting stuck in traffic are high.
3. Do not opt for Public Transport:
It will only cost you a lot, seriously a lot of time. It is better to rent a car and enjoy exploring the place. An Uber or Lyft can also be a good option, they are reasonable enough, often cheaper than usual taxis which are 20 to 30% costlier.
4. Don’t Visit the Hollywood Wax Museum:
This might have been on your To Do list, but you should strike it off. It is not worth it. The wax statues will genuinely disappoint you. There is no comparison to Madam Tussad’s.
The visitor ratings are routinely quite low, and you don’t need to be a part of those less informed mistaken crowd. It was recently tagged as the Worst Wax Museum in America. Can’t wait to book airline tickets to the USA?
5. Don’t Go to Chinatown:
It is almost like a film set. However, not very exciting. The small place could be visited if there is no scarcity of time. But there won’t be any loss, if you wish to skip it. The neighborhood in downtown Los Angeles offers nothing spectacular to do or see or experience in particular.
6. Visiting the Sunset Strip in the Daytime:
The name is enough to suggest you the time of visit. Still, if you don’t get it, in plain words – Follow the Advise! The legendary Sunset Strip finds its great appeal only from the nightclubs sprawling along it. During the day there is nothing except a dozen of shops, which are not worth making a trip to.
And for the must do, the long list includes visiting the Venice beach, Disneyland, take the Los Angeles Conservancy Walking Tour, go to the Griffith Park & Observatory, may opt to visit the Catalina Island, and well when in LA Hollywood Walk of Fame, we understand cannot be resisted, so go ahead! There is so much in store for the most wonderful holiday ever. Start planning now and book yourself cheap flight tickets to Los Angeles. You’ll cherish the memorable trip all your life.
