Restricted Baggage Items In International Flights

No one wants a chaos when travelling. Or do you? The obvious answer is No, right? This is the exact reason why we have security checks at the airports. This is the reason again for airlines imposing certain rules and regulations on us when it comes to our baggage. Well, yeah, there are certain things that are restricted for one to carry when they are flying. What? You have already booked your cheap last minute flights to India and had no clue about what you can carry? No worries! We are here for help, following are the restricted things not allowed, policies of different airlines.

United Airlines

If you are traveling with any of the flights of United Airlines, then you should have to consider about the restriction items of United Airlines.

Batteries:

Lithium battery less than 100-watt-hours are allowed in carry-on and checked baggage but passengers are not allowed to take loose lithium batteries.

Camping Equipment:

No  camping equipment are allowed

Explosives and Fireworks:

Fireworks, gunpowder, flare guns and fireworks novelties are not permitted carry via flying with any United Airlines.

Household Items:

Insecticides, flammable products, corrosive, torch lighters, spray starch, gel fuel, glue, paint, bleach, drain cleaners and other aerosol items are not allowed.

Lighters, Matches, and e-cigarettes:

Electronic cigarettes, personal vaporizers, all types of matches and lighters are banned.

Ready-to-eat Meals:

Ready-to-eat meals are not permitted.

Stun Guns are totally prohibited from carry-on baggage.

Etihad Airways

Some items are not treated by the airlines and on airports. Passengers must have the knowledge of restricted items which is linked with the Etihad Airways before flying. Otherwise it will create issues at the time of check-in.

• Alkalis and acids like wet batteries
• Corrosive or bleaching substances like chlorine,mercury
• Disabling sprays include mace, pepper, tear gas
• Radioactive material, commercial or medicinal isotopes
• Poisons
• Infectious or hazardous biological substance like such as infected blood, viruses& bacteria
• Fire extinguishers
• Material capable of spontaneous ignition or combustion
• Lithium batteries above 160 Wh
• Gas containers of butane, propane, acetylene, oxygen
• Flares, fireworks and pyrotechnics 
• Non-safety matches
• Flammable liquid fuel such as diesel, petrol, gasoline, ethanol, alcohol, lighter fluid

• Alcoholic beverages more than 70% by volume

• Replica or imitation explosive material or devices

Qatar Airways

For passenger security, Qatar Airways imposes restrictions on certain hazardous items that are not authorize to be carry on any of its aircraft.

Dangerous goods

International civil aviation rules restrict the transportation of these items. Both cabin baggage and checked baggage prohibit these goods.

Here is the table mentioned below in which the restricted items are noted which are not allowed in the hand baggage & checked baggage.

Not permitted in hand baggage

• Stunning devices- pepper spray, mace, Stun guns, animal repellents.
• Workers Tools- Drills, crowbars, saws, screw-drivers, nail guns.

Not permitted in checked baggage

• Corrosives materials include alkalies, acids, mercury & wet cell batteries.
• Infectious substances – Poisons like weed killers, cyanide’s, arsenic, insecticides.
• Radioactive Material.
• Fiber glass repair kits, Bleaches.
• Flammable Liquids & Solids like heavier or lighter fuels, paint and all matches.

Delta Airlines

If you are flying with Delta Airline, it’s important to take into account the restricted items that you cannot carry in either your hand or checked baggage.

Delta carries on Liquids:

If you are carrying liquor with the Delta Airline then the amount of alcohol content should not be exceed than 140 proof.

Ammunition:

Delta Airlines requires passengers to pack ammunition and weapons in a box, lock it properly, and place it in checked baggage.

Automotive:

Only permit parts of auto and vehicle in carry-on or checked baggage if they are not fill with fuel.

Fireworks or Explosives:

Items like firecrackers, signal flares, Christmas crackers or sparklers

Flammable Liquids:

Refills, paints, lubricants, Torch or blue flame lighters

Household Items:

Totally ban bleach, cleaning solvents, aerosols, drain cleaners and pesticides as household goods.

Lithium Batteries:

Lithium cells or batteries like watches, calculators, cameras, cell phones, laptops

Meals Ready to Eat:

We do not allow passengers to carry ready-to-eat-meals in checked or carry-on baggage.

Personal Care Items:

Personal care items like cologne and hairspray

Refrigerators and Air Conditioners:

Appliances like freezers,refrigerators, air-conditioners

Weapons:

Never allow black powder, mace, pepper spray or tear gas.

Other Possible Hazardous Items:

Knives, swords, Knitting, scissors, hairspray, sunscreen, fishing hooks, Hairdryer a straightener, fragile glass items.
