Allahabad fort

The majestic fort stands tall near the Triveni Sangam. The great fort was erected by the Mughal king Akbar in 1583 AD. Akbar was impressed by the area and decided to construct a great fort. Chandrasekhar azad park

The park encapsulates an area of 133 acres and is a beautiful public park in Allahabad. The park was earlier called Alfred park during the days of company rule and British rule. But in 1931, the park was renamed Chandrasekhar Azad park to honour the revolutionary freedom fighter. The park also houses a tree under which Chandrashekhar Azad shot himself dead so as not to be caught alive by the Britishers.
