Compared to traditional ways where you have to book in advance for your whole family to offer a more manual process, the new policy by United Airlines will help you map available advanced seats when you’re booking.
“In an era where more families are working in a hybrid environment, they’re traveling more often – and they’re flying United,”
“We’re focused on delivering a great experience for our younger passengers and their parents and know it often starts with the right seat.
We look forward to rolling out more family-friendly features this year,” said Linda Jojo, Chief Customer Officer for United Airlines.
United has designed the policy, especially for families, in a way that an adult can accompany children under the age of 12 with no additional fee. Though this policy will strengthen the position of flyers without the need to ask agents for swaps at the gate or change seats with fellow passengers, for you to sit with your family.
Why this policy? As a part of the Junk Fee Prevention Act, recent announcements by the White House state its plan to ban family seating fees applicable to all airlines. United Airlines have taken the initiative to introduce and market on future possibilities.
