George Bush Intercontinental Airport is the international airport in Houston that serves the Greater Houston metropolitan area. The airport, however, serves many domestic flights; it has been ranked as the largest international hub in Texas.
The airport has gained its name from the 41st president of the United States as it was earlier named as the Houston Intercontinental Airport.

Terminals at George Bush Intercontinental Airport
The airport operates as five terminals that operate separately, however, they are connected to each other in one way or the other. These terminals are:
1) Terminal A
When taking your flights from the USA, you will note that Terminal A of the George Bush Intercontinental Airport operates only domestic and short-haul flights of all the domestic airlines.
However, there are certain exceptions like United Canadian airlines, some domestic United Express Flights, and international departures.
The terminal was one of the initial two terminals built for the Houston intercontinental Airport in the year 1969.
(i) Levels of Terminal A
The terminal A building has four levels:
(a) LL Level
One can easily locate a subway at this level that connects it to other terminals. When you have taken flights to India from Houston, you have access to the subway through the pre-security area of the terminal.
(b) Level 1
This level is also termed as the arrivals terminal of the airport. It gives the passengers access to baggage and passenger collection area. Also, you can access transport facilities from level 1, including valet parking.
(c) Level 2
This level is also called as the departure and billing level of the airport. You can locate the boarding gates that are from A1 to A30 in two different areas of the level. These are grouped into:
North Lobby: Here, you will find boarding gates from A1 to A15. Also, you can have easy access to Skyway of terminals B/C/D/ and E.
South Lobby: It contains the boarding gates from A17 to A30.
One has to successfully clear the security check to access the doors present in each of the lobbies.
Moreover, level 2 of the terminal A has a passenger drop-off area long with billing area.
(d) Level 3
This level gives the passengers access to the Skyway to Terminals B, C, D, and E
Also, you can only access the Skyway after passing the secured lobby.
(ii) Lounges at the Terminal A of George Bush Intercontinental Airport
United Club: On your flights to the USA, you can locate this lounge in the lobby near the boarding Gate A9.
2) Terminal B
When you have booked flights to Indiaor any other destination from Houston, you will note that Terminal B at the airport is for the operation of United Express Airlines. It operates both the domestic as well as international airlines.
The terminal has undergone certain renovations after it first started its operations in the year 1969.
(i) Levels of Terminal B
The terminal building for Terminal B has been divided into four levels. Also, it consists of two halls, namely North and South. Moreover, these halls divide the terminal into two different sections.
(a) LL Level
This level at the Terminal B of the George Bush International Airport gives access to the Subway connecting it to all the other terminals. Also, when you book flights to Mumbai, you can locate that the level connects the terminal to Marriot Hall.
The level can be easily accessed through the pre-security area as well.
(b) Level 1
This level is meant for the arrival purposes of the terminal B. Also, you can avail of the transfer facilities like ground transportation parking valet, etc. from here.
(c) Level 2
This level is basically meant for departure and billing. Also, it has boarding gates numbering from B1 to B88 that are divided into various hallways.
North Lobby: It contains gates from B76, B76a, B77, B77a, B79, B79a, B80, B81, B81a, B83, B83a, B85, B85a, B86, B86a, B87, B88. Also, it gives access to the upper level.
South Lobby: It gives access to gates from B1-B31, B12-B20, and B1-B11.
Moreover, you can have access to the New United Club Room through the elevators and near the check-in desks.
(d) Level 3
This level is located on the Skyway connecting A, C, D, and E terminals. You can have access to this after a successful security check.
(ii) Lounges at the Terminal B of George Bush Intercontinental Airport
United Club Lounge: This is located in the lobby before the Continental Express counter.
3) Terminal C
This terminal, the George Bush Intercontinental Airport, operates all the domestic flights for United Airways starting from Houston.
(i) Levels of Terminal C
Houston airport is divided into two parts: North and South.
The Northern part of the terminal connects it to Terminal D, while the Southern part connects it to terminal E.
However, Terminal C building is divided into four levels. These are described below:
(a) LL Level
This is the level that contains the subway and connects terminal C to Terminal A, B, D, and E. Also, on your flights from Houston, you should know that the subway can be accessed without going through the security check.
(b) Level 1
Also known as the arrivals level, the level has baggage and passenger collection area for your convenience. Moreover, you can have access to multiple transport options from this level at terminal C.
You can also locate only one eating joint that is Jetbox Market, here at this level of terminal C.
(c) Level 2
This level has boarding gates from C1 to C45 and is divided into two lobbies:
South Lobby: When you take your cheap flights to India, you will see that the level has boarding gates from C29 to C37 and from C39 to C45. You can also locate a corridor that connects it to terminal E, gates E1 to E24.
North Lobby: This lobby contains gates from C14 to C27. Also, you can make a direct connection to Terminal D gates D1 to D12 through this North Lobby in terminal C.
Moreover, it also connects to the USO lounge that is present near gate D1 and D2.
Billing Area: This check-in area gives access to Subway connecting various terminals and also Marriott Hotel. Also, you can access Brown Parking.
(d) Level 3
Like all the other terminals, this level has connections to the other terminals through Skyway after a security check.
(ii) Lounges at the Terminal C of George Bush Intercontinental Airport
This terminal houses two United Lounges at different locations:
United Club Lounge: Located at South Lobby near the Boarding Gate C33
United Club Lounge: Located at North Lobby near the Boarding Gate C24
4) Terminal D
Terminal D of the George Bush Intercontinental Airport does not operate any international flight currently. This terminal will start its international flight operation to India and other countries from the year 2021.
This terminal is also known as the Mickey Leland terminal.
(i) Levels at Terminal D
The terminal has two levels for output out of a total of five levels. These are:
(a) LL Level
This level, as in the other terminals, issues connections through a subway to the other terminals and Marriot Hotel. This subway can be accessed before the security check as well.
(b) Level 1
This is the billing and international arrivals terminal. It operates in connection with Terminal E for the operation of international flights.
Also, when you book flight tickets to India, you should know that this terminal does not operate any United Airlines flight and also some arrivals from United express airlines.
The level has the following features:
- Parking D and E
- Mostradores Billing
- Area collection luggage
Passengers can go from the arrival levels to the Tunnel levels:
Mezzanine (M)
At this level, American Express “The Centurion” Room is located. From here, the passengers can have access to level 1 and level 2 both.
(c) Level 2
This level is meant for the departures and has boarding gates from D1 to D12.
You can also locate a corridor that is present close to the gate D1. This corridor provides a connection to terminal C gates C14 to C45.
Also, right in front of D7 and D8, the corridor shows the beginning of Terminal E.
(d) Level 3
This is Skyway level that issues connections between various terminals after a security check.
(ii) Lounges at the Terminal D of George Bush Intercontinental Airport
You can find various VIP lounges at Terminal D of the George Bush Intercontinental Airport. These are:
- KLM Crown Lounge: Located In front of door D8
- Centurion Lounge: Located at the airside of Gate D8
- Air France Lounge: Located near door D12
- British Airways Lounge: Located In front of door D9
- USE: Located in the airside across the gate
5) Terminal E
This terminal E of the George Bush Intercontinental Airport operates the International Arrivals of the other terminals.
(i) Level of Terminal E
(a) LL Level
Like all the other terminals, the level gives a connection to the other terminals through a subway. You can even avail of the benefits of the subway even without undergoing a security check.
(b) Level 1
This is the international arrivals level of the airport and contains boarding gates from E1 to E24. You can have access to transport facilities like Hotel Shuttles, car rental center, Taxis, Parking, etc.
Also, here you can easily locate Starbucks and two other stores that are The Wall Street Journal, and AT&T Automated Kiosk. Moreover, you will find services like Currency exchange, Information Point, Defibrillators, Smoking area, Vending Machines, etc.
(c) Level 2
This contains a corridor connecting lobby C that passes through the doors 10A and B, and also the baggage claim for domestic flights.
(d) Level 3
This level gives you access to skyway after a successful security check.
(ii) Lounges at the Terminal E of George Bush Intercontinental Airport
There is only one lounge at the Terminal E. That is:
United Club Lounge: This lounge is located between the boarding gates E11 and E12.
