Direct Flights To Fly on San Francisco-Bangalore Route in October

Bengaluru and San Francisco, two of the world’s leading tech hubs, will be connected by direct flights beginning at the end of October thanks to Tata-owned Air India. In the upcoming winter schedule, Air India will begin a twice-weekly nonstop service between the two cities. The passengers can now start planning to book direct flight tickets from USA to India.

People associated with Air India told the news organization Times of India that Bengaluru would eventually receive a twice-weekly flight to SFO. The number will eventually increase with time. Since western carriers do not fly across Russian airspace, United Airlines’ proposed Bengaluru-San Francisco trip continues to get postponed. The proposed Bengaluru-Seattle nonstop flight by American Airlines is currently being delayed for the same reason. This is why Air India took the initiative to get USA (San Francisco) to India (Bangalore) direct flights. Bookings for direct flights from USA to Bangalore online and vice versa will make the long-haul travel for the passengers less hectic.

When Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal visited the West Coast earlier this month, some American businesspeople of Indian descent raised the issue of a lack of direct connectivity on the Bengaluru-San Francisco route even though direct flight tickets from USA to India on this route are on high demand.

Air India still flies over Russian airspace, allowing its planes to travel the quickest path feasible, making it the largest operator of nonstop flights between India and the US. The carrier recently disclosed that it would be leasing five Boeing 777 long-range (LR) aircraft. Between December 2018 and March 2023, these ex-Delta aircraft will join the AI fleet.

Once these planes are a part of Air India’s fleet, Bengaluru will have three flights per week to San Francisco, and booking of flights from USA to Bangalore online and vice versa will increase on San Francisco and Bangalore routes.

The Tata Group-owned airline Air India announced on September 12 that it would be increasing its fleet by more than 25% by leasing 30 Boeing and Airbus aircraft. Air India Chief Executive Campbell Wilson stated that the airline is glad to expand its fleet. This will increase its global reach after a protracted period of little growth. The most recent agreements include the lease of five Boeing B777-200LRs, four Airbus A321neos, and 21 Airbus A320neos.
