On January 31, G Kishan Reddy, Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Development of the North Eastern Region (DoNER), launched the Visit India Year 2023 initiative and its logo in New Delhi, kicking off the year of grand plans and activities to promote tourism in India for international travelers coming by cheap international flight tickets. Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Development of the North Eastern Region (DONER), today launched the Visit India Year 2023 initiative and unveiled its logo in New Delhi, ushering in a year of big plans and activities to promote tourism in India.

The purpose behind this decision

On a mission to unlock the untapped potential of tourism in India and capitalize on the momentum created by the global industry’s recovery, the Ministry of Tourism has designated 2023 as ‘Visit India Year,’ making the country a 365-day destination. The Ministry of Tourism has designated this year as ‘Visit India Year 2023’ in order to encourage inbound travel, particularly in light of India’s current G20 Presidency and the grand celebrations of India 75 Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

What’s the take by Union Minister for Tourism

On the occasion, the Union Minister for Tourism announced the launch of the Visit India Year 2023 logo today, emphasizing the significance of this year as India hosts the G20.

The Union Minister also stated that over one lakh foreign delegates will visit India this year especially American delegates coming by flights to india from USA, and they will be shown the full range of Indian culture, including monuments and festivals.

Shri G. Kishan Reddy went on to say that each G20 foreign delegate will serve as a brand ambassador for India’s culture, heritage, and tourist destinations.

According to Shri Kishan Reddy, the Ministry of Tourism is working with Indian missions and other stakeholders to create a welcoming environment for foreign visitors this year.

Concept of the new logo

The concept of Atithi Devo Bhava inspired the design of the new logo, which takes the shape of a grand namaste. If you ask any Indian, you will certainly come to know that namaste holds the most influential value in Indian culture, commonly used as a greeting.

It is not only a traditional way to greet people, but it is also a noble gesture to welcome them. By folding our hands, India and its citizens are inviting the rest of the world to visit them with cheap international flight tickets. But the logo is more than meets the eye. The Visit India Year 2023 logo “is an open invitation to the world to come and experience Incredible India,” according to the Ministry of Tourism.

“Every icon shown in the logo represents India in its own unique way,” the statement continued.

Steps that are taken by Tourism Minister

  1. To promote the country’s tourism

Giving a visual representation of the year’s mission, the Tourism Minister flagged the campaign and impressed that the focus is on inbound travel to India for 2023 and that the initiative will help promote the diverse tourism offerings of each state to global tourists. According to the Ministry of Tourism, India’s G20 presidency presents an excellent opportunity to promote the country’s tourism offerings on a global scale.

“As a result, plans are underway to launch this global campaign by inspiring citizens to become India’s ambassadors through pride-inspiring citizen advocacy campaigns throughout the year in the backdrop of India’s G20 presidency, leveraging engagements across the G20 meeting cities,” it said.

  1. To improve the infrastructure & support a digital ecosystem

As part of the initiative, the Ministry will also work to improve infrastructure and other framework conditions that will have an impact on tourism growth this year. Furthermore, the authorities plan to leverage, embellish, and polish the ‘Incredible India’ brand to meet the new expectations of global travelers. They are already working on plans to support the brand with a digital ecosystem, including a reimagined website that will unbox soul-stirring stories across various travel experience categories, showcasing the diverse facets of India. This platform aims to engage all senses through immersive tech innovations, providing personalized experiences for travelers worldwide.

  1. To launch a signature newsletter

Incredible India’s global social media outreach will also be expanded on the brand platform. In addition, the Ministry will launch a signature newsletter that will carry India’s voice around the world, regaling the world with unheard stories from India. This initiative will also include bringing on board partnerships and collaborations that will become the voices of Incredible India, such as global influencers, opinion shapers, industry leaders, and cultural and historical experts.

Conclusion

To achieve synergies in the Ministry’s efforts and address tourism sector requirements, the MoT is currently collaborating with all relevant ministries, government agencies, partners, the travel and trade industry, state governments, tourism boards, and stakeholders who have influence and impact on tourism. Moreover, this collaborative approach is essential for fostering a comprehensive and integrated strategy for the benefit of the tourism sector. The Ministry is excited to launch this global campaign in order to have a positive impact on the tourism sector and to encourage all related industries, businesses, and authorities to capitalize on the momentum to showcase the strengths of Incredible India.
