Akasa Air Introduces Two Boeing 737 Max 8 Aircraft – Know More!

As part of its expanding worldwide operations, Akasa Air recently added two Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft to its fleet. The carrier aims to expand its share of the market and satisfy the increasing requirement for inexpensive domestic travel within India by putting on these additional aircraft. In addition, for travelers seeking cheap air tickets to India from USA, Akasa Air’s expansion hints at potentially more affordable options shortly. Furthermore, Akasa Air intends to broaden its worldwide operations and is expected to take delivery of its twenty-fourth 737 MAX—of a total of 150 aircraft—shortly. See more updates in the section below.

Akasa Air’s Big Boeing Order

During last year’s Paris Air Show, Akasa Air and Boeing increased their initial agreement from 72 aircraft to 76. This set consists of 23 737-8s and 737-8-200s with a high capacity. It is expected that they will be supplied in the upcoming four years.

Despite widespread expectations, Akasa Air did not place a significant order with Boeing by the end of 2023. The MAX 10 variant was one of 150 737 MAX aircraft that Akasa ordered a little more than a month ago. Akasa Air became the first Indian airline to order 200 aircraft as a result, after only 17 months in operation.

Furthermore, Akasa Air intends to purchase CFM LEAP-1B engines to power the 737 MAX.

Why Did The Airline Add On Two Boeing 737 Max 8 Aircraft?

According to the sources, the Indian Budget Carrier intended to buy about 150 narrowbody Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in the upcoming months for use on flights outside of India.

These aircraft are bought not only for domestic and international travel but also for travel from India to neighboring foreign countries including South East Asia and the Middle East. As a result, the airline’s ultimate goal is to provide service to millions of passengers worldwide and expand its network of links.

Akasa’s Expanding Horizons

Akasa Air connects 17 cities in India. It has carried three million paid passengers on over 900 weekly flights. Before it started flying, Akasa Air purchased 72 737 MAX aircraft, of which 23 have been delivered. Over the next eight years, it is expected to have 204 aircraft in its fleet.

Akasa didn’t start functioning until August 2022, when it offered a link between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. Within the next six months, it started to operate in ten Indian cities. And it currently covers all of the country’s first-tier cities. Srinagar, one of the most visited tourist destinations. It  is among the more recent locations to which Akasa Air intends to provide flights. Starting on March 1, 2024, passengers can take Akasa Air to Srinagar. Akasa aims to increase its network by 35 percent by 2024. With the acquisition of the new 737 MAXs, it is aiming to grow.

In addition, data from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) revealed that Akasa Air had the highest on-time percentage in the nation—78.2%—among all airlines. As a result, the airline was recently named the most punctual in the nation.

Current Market Status Of Akasa Air

  • The airline became qualified to operate internationally in August 2023 when Akasa Air added its 20th aircraft to its fleet, meeting the requirement that it have at least 20 aircraft to do so.
  • The Boeing 737 MAX 737-8-200 model is the first in Asia’s airline fleet, owned by Akasa Air.
  • While IndiGo continues to have a commanding 60% of the market, this airline currently holds a mere 4% share.

Akasa Air Passed The Statement

  • “The airline intends to embark on a new chapter in its growth story by expanding its fleet, which will enable dependable and smooth connectivity for travelers worldwide as it begins to expand its domestic presence and international operations in the upcoming months.”
  • According to an airline statement, Akasa Air intends to expand both its domestic and international operations in the following months of the year.
  • This covers almost everything. According to reports, there is a possibility that this company will succeed in the sector and achieve its goal of growth.
