Flyopedia knows that it was tough for everyone to recover from the pandemic. After it subsided, the demand for non – stop international flights between the US and India skyrocketed. For the ease of passengers traveling by air, airlines have launched new routes and flights since then. And we are here to give you a summarised view of that before you get last minute flight tickets to India with us. Here is everything you need to know.
Since 2023, the demand for direct flights shot up because families and senior citizens preferred convenience over costs. The advantages soon outweighed the costs of direct flights and everyone’s need for flight travel shifted from having a stop or 2 to directly reaching the destination. It also helped save a lot of time and effort for both passengers and airlines.
There are a few airlines which provide direct flights between the 2 countries. But with its recent launches and constant renovations, Air India has now occupied a larger share of the passenger traffic. It provides the most flight routes with direct flights across US and India. Other airlines include United airlines, American airlines and Delta airlines.
A regular one – way trip on most flights from the US to India or vice versa takes approximately between 13 to 17 hours. That is almost 6 to 8 hours shorter than 1 stop flights! Additionally, the itineraries become simpler, there are less baggage check – ins and best of all, less jet lag. Though they usually cost a bit more than one – stop or two – stop flights between the destinations, we make it up to you with our cheap flight deals to India from USA. Check availability here!
Air India is up and raring to go by serving the busiest routes in the US – India travel corridor. None of the other airlines have come close as of yet. Additionally, it is the only airline providing direct JFK to BOM flights currently. It is also planning to launch more routes by the end of this year.
As you can see from the direct flight routes mentioned above, most flights in the US – India travel corridor usually connect to New Delhi in India. The same can be said for San Francisco in the US. San Francisco (SFO) is the only US airport which offers direct flights to Indian locations. These include New Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Meanwhile, ORD, New York, EWR, Washington DC and SFO all have direct flights to Delhi IGI Airport.
A one – way JFK to DEL flight will take the following times for the following airlines.
