Air Suvidha form is no more required to travel to India
There is a flux of international passengers arriving in India and we have good news for you. Union health ministry of India has planned to do away with the requirement of uploading self-declaration forms on the air Suvidha Portal. It is a major relief to the passengers arriving in India, particularly those coming by flights to India from USA.
Till now There was a requirement of filling out the air Suvidha form which has questions about current health, recent travel, and many other topics for all international passengers arriving in India. The revised order comes into effect on 22nd November 2022.
Furthermore, the announcement from the civil aviation ministry read “In the light of sustained declining COVID-19 trajectory and significant advances being made in COVID-19 vaccination coverage both globally as well as in India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has issued revised ‘Guidelines for International Arrivals.
It is worth mentioning here that recently India has also done away with the mask requirement for all domestic and international travelers while flying otherwise or via last minute flights. The ministry said all passengers should preferably wear masks and face covers but there will not be any penalty or fines in case the passenger chooses not to wear the masks. It is completely at the discretion of the passenger whether to wear a mask or not. So now the persons coming from flights to India from USA can choose not to wear masks during the flight without any worries.
Revised guidelines for international arrivals
The civil aviation ministry has issued revised guidelines for international arrivals stating that ‘all passengers need to have received the full vaccination as per the primary schedule of vaccination against COVID-19 in the country.’
Here is a list of seven key points from the latest guidelines by the government:
- The passengers onboard should be completely vaccinated according to the approved primary schedule of vaccination in their country against covid 19.
- As per the guiding protocol, the traveler showing symptoms akin to those of covid 19 while onboard should be isolated.
- The person showing symptoms of covid 19 needs to wear a mask and should be isolated from the rest of the travelers and immediately be moved to an isolated facility.
- The de-boarding from the plane should also be done following social distancing.
- The thermal screening at the point of entry is mandatory for all passengers by health officials.
- The person who is found symptomatic during screening should be isolated immediately and given proper medical facilities as per the protocol.
- All travelers need to self-monitor their health after arrival and also shall report to the nearest health facility.
