Spread over an area of 4850 acres, the Detroit Metropolitan Airport is a major international airport. Also known as Detroit Metro Airport, or simply Metro Airport, it is one of the largest airline hubs of the United States of America. Concourse A: Concourse A of Detroit Airport is the world’s second-longest airport concourse. Shopping and dining facilities are located at the center of concourse A. Also situated here are three luxurious Delta Airlines SkyClubs. This concourse also connects to the Westin Hotel. It also has an automated people mover.

There are a total of 63 gates at concourse A, out of which 12 gates are used for international traffic. Also, you will find a pet relief area.

Passengers on international itineraries, such as flight tickets from India to the USA, ending their journey in Detroit, can exit from a dedicated international arrivals hall.

Concourse B and C: There are a total of 41 gates. These are used for Delta Airlines’ regional flights. All such flights have jet bridges. Therefore, you do not require outdoor boarding. Concourse B and C are connected to the main terminal building. You can use these for connecting flights. So, for instance, if you are traveling on Miami to India flights via Detroit, you will have to commute from these concourses.

Attractions at Edward H McNamara Terminal

The Light Tunnel: The highlight of the B and C concourse is the airport ramp, also called the light tunnel. The entire length of the walkway features a multicolored light show behind sculpted panels of glass. Moreover, the lights are in sync with a music score. The light tunnel was won multiple awards for its design.
Electronic Directories: McNamara terminal makes use of hi-tech devices, such as the electronic terminal directories. A passenger can screen their boarding pass, and it will direct them to their boarding gate. You can even search for a restaurant and view their menu. Water Feature: There is also a beautiful laminar flow water feature design at concourse A. It adds to the aesthetic value of the airport. The water system is made of black granite and reaches a height of 39 feet. It sprouts water through a leapfrog device.
Four Delta SkyClubs: The four Delta Skyclubs are located at Concourse C, near Gate A38, near Concourse A-Gate A68, and Concourse A-Gate A18. If you are traveling through Delta Airlines Hubs, say Chennai to JFK flights via Detroit, you can relax at the SkyClub and wait for layovers. It is one of the best ways to kill time.

North Terminal

The North Terminal handles traffic of all the non-SkyTeam airlines. The fourth and the last concourse, i.e., D, is located at the North Terminal.

Levels: The North Terminal consists of two levels.

Lower Level: The lower level houses the Arrivals area. Also, located on the lower level is the baggage claim area. There are five baggage carousels. The lower level also has the US Customs and Border Protection for international arrivals. Located herein are two additional baggage carousels.
Upper Level: Located on the upper level are the security check and check-in areas. Further, you can also access Concourse D from here.

Concourse D: This concourse has a total of 26 gates. The boarding gates D1 to D16, and gates D17 to D32 are located at Concourse D. Also, you can find the pedestrian bridge that will take you to the Ground Transportation Center. If you are traveling from Boston to India via Detroit or any other international route, your flights will operate from gate D1 to D15.
